From Kano to Pi Frame

Updated: Mar 26

Years ago, when the kids were in elementary school, I bought a DIY Raspberry Pi computer kit (Kano) for the kids. They've long since upgraded to more powerful computers for everyday life, but I still have the parts, including a Pi 3 board and a nice molded plastic screen set in a frame.

I've been meaning to do this for a while. One of the nice things about a digital frame with a dynamic feed is that I'm reminded of how full our lives are! And, this winter break, I finally had a chance to upcycle this old computer and turn it into a digital photo frame for my desk.

Thanks to Henric Worf for the great software, too, allowing me to connect it to the Google Photos API. Anyone wanting to do the same, here's the link: https://github.com/mrworf/photoframe
